Guided Days
Guided fishing is a fun day out and a great way to meet new friends. Fishing equipment can be supplied or you can use your own. Either way, we'll do our best to get you into some fish.
The Northern Fishing School is based at Swinton Park Estate, North Yorkshire and comprises a casting tuition lake, Leighton Reservoir, the Swinton River Ure and River Burn beats.

Lake Fishing
The Northern Fishing School has a Learner Lake for newcomers to the sport and features large water targets for improving accuracy and Leighton Reservoir offers some of the best stillwater fly fishing in Yorkshire. For all beginners we start on the grass and hone in their new casting skills before hitting the water. We feel that it's much more important that you leave us feeling confident that you can set up your rod by yourself, cast and catch, without us being there.

River Ure
The estate has fishing for wild brown trout, grayling and salmon along its four miles of single-bank River Ure. The Swinton beat is bookable via FishPal; if you would like a guide please contact us. The school also has access to Swinton's private beat just outside Masham, which has produced some amazing brown trout and salmon for our clients.

River Burn
River Burn has over six miles of double bank, it flows through the heart of the Swinton Estate, rising on Masham Moor and flowing down through Colsterdale, past the villages of Healey and Fearby and joining the River Ure just south of Masham. There is no better place to be on a hot summers day than underneath the magical canopy of trees on the Burn, catching brownies on dry flies all day long.
