Experience the breathtaking Soča Valley, home to some of the most exceptional fly fishing in Europe. Its legendary Marble Trout, which can grow to over 100 cm! Crystal clear turquoise waters framed by dramatic alpine scenery. With guidance from your dedicated NFS Host and expert local guides, you’ll sight-fish your way through an extraordinary variety of water: serene deep pools, smooth glides, turbulent pocket water, and cascading rapids.
The valley offers opportunities for a range of fly fishing styles, with Euro-nymphing and streamer fishing proving especially effective in these pristine conditions.
The primary species you’ll encounter include Marble Trout and Rainbow Trout, with Grayling also present in select stretches of the river system. Throughout your adventure, the NFS team and local experts will ensure you are well supported, well guided, and fully immersed in this remarkable fishery.
Your adventure begins here. Throughout the trip, you’ll explore some of the Soča Valley’s most beautiful and productive fly fishing locations, including its stunning tributaries. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll spend the day fishing to your heart’s content. With food and drinks to keep you fuelled for the challenge ahead, you’ll be ready to take on these powerful, awe-inspiring fish.

Cast and Blast Weekend
Enjoy a full weekend of clay shooting at the renowned EJ Churchill Shooting Ground, set within the stunning Swinton Park Estate. Begin on Saturday 2nd May with a hearty bacon sandwich and a hot drink before heading out onto the ground alongside experienced instructors. After an exhilarating day’s shooting, unwind and relax with an overnight stay at a premium local pub and restaurant, where you’ll enjoy comfortable accommodation followed by breakfast the next morning.
On Sunday 3rd May, you will be welcomed at the Northern Fishing School before being escorted to our exclusive private beat on the River Ure. Spend the day alongside our experienced instructors, targeting wild brown trout or salmon, using a range of proven tactics and specialist equipment tailored to conditions and ability.

Stillwater Improver Day
Have you encountered challenges refining your approach during the 2025 season, or are you looking to improve your technical ability?
Spend a day with our instructors targeting quality stillwater rainbow trout, focusing on tactical fly selection, leader configuration, depth control, retrieve variation, and watercraft.
With a wide range of fishing options available—including bank fishing, boat fishing, and belly boat fishing. We are here to expand your technical knowledge, improve your effectiveness, or simply introduce you to a different style and approach to stillwater fly fishing.
Throughout the day, our instructors will guide you through a variety of proven styles and tactics, allowing you to put each into practice using the demonstration equipment provided. So grab your waders and life jacket and prepare to get on the water. Whether you’re venturing out in belly boats, fishing from rowing boats, or refining your bank-based techniques, you’ll have the ideal opportunity to target stillwater trout while testing the latest equipment supplied.

Fish on the River Ure on the prestigious Swinton park Estate, North Yorkshire. Improve on your watercraft and catch rates while finessing your delivery and setup.
Bring your own tackle along to allow us to help with your setups while also having access to our extensive demo setups.
From dry flies, nymphs and spiders, build on it all. Our instructors have a huge wealth of knowledge and experience, We all have preferred fishing styles but maybe build on that style you are less confident with to drastically improve your seasons catch returns!
